Everything You've Built Is Still There | Mindfulness4Dogs
Module 6 · Weeks 16–20 · Final

Everything you've built
is still there.
It just goes quiet for a bit.

Adolescence is coming. Darran is honest about what it brings — and the most reassuring thing he says is exactly what you need to hear before it arrives.

What's coming — and why it's okay

The foundations don't disappear during adolescence. They just go quiet while the brain finishes what it's doing.

Luna will seem less responsive. Some things she learned might seem forgotten. The recall might feel unreliable. None of this is a training failure. It's the brain reorganising. And when it settles — and it does settle — what comes out is the dog that all of this was building toward.

More distractable — particularly outdoors
Recall feels less reliable — keep the foundations going
Some regression in behaviours that were working
More reactive to dogs, sounds, new environments
All of it temporary. None of it undoes the work.

What the adolescent brain does — and what that means for the dog you've been building

The puppy challenges module closes out Module 6 with an honest account of what adolescence brings and why. Watch it before it starts. The more prepared you are, the better you'll navigate it — for both of you.
